Seven people were killed and 25 injured early Sunday when the bus they were on overturned on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in the Usrahar area, police reported.

Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar informed reporters that the bus, bearing a Nagaland number plate, was en route to Delhi from Rae Bareli. Around 12:45 a.m., it collided with a car traveling in the wrong lane.

According to Superintendent Kumar, the driver of the car, driving from Lucknow to Agra, might have fallen asleep and drifted into the wrong lane. The impact sent the bus careening into a roadside ditch.

The injured parties, including one in critical condition, have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. The bus was carrying approximately 60 passengers at the time of the accident.
