Zomato's Platform Fee Boosts Revenues by Rs 83 Crore
Zomato, a food delivery aggregator, has reported significant revenue gains since introducing a platform fee last August. The company collected Rs 83 crore through this fee until March, contributing to a 27% annual revenue growth. The platform fee is a key factor in Zomato's profitability strategy.
Zomato, the popular food delivery aggregator, has seen substantial financial benefits from its platform fee initiative, introduced in August of the previous year.
According to the company's annual report, the platform fee has generated Rs 83 crore by March, contributing significantly to a 27% rise in Zomato's adjusted revenue, which reached Rs 7,792 crore for FY24.
The platform fee, alongside increased restaurant commission rates and improved ad monetization, has more than made up for reduced customer delivery charges on Gold orders. Zomato also highlighted that the majority of late-night orders in the past fiscal year originated from Delhi NCR, with Bengaluru leading in breakfast orders.
