In a significant showcase of the strengthening Indo-US partnership, Jonathan Heimer, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the US Foreign Commercial Service, underscored the United States' dedication to supporting India's ambitious energy transition goals. At the 2nd Energy Summit organized by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Heimer emphasized numerous opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector.

Heimer, speaking at the IACC session themed 'Climate Change and Decarbonization of Indian Economy - Vision 2030', stated, "In India, we see so many opportunities for collaboration in the energy segment. With that reason we have established a strong presence in India." Heimer highlighted that from solar and wind power to energy storage and grid modernization, American businesses are actively contributing to India's clean energy journey.

Heimer noted India's unprecedented progress in energy transition, aiming for 500 GW installed renewable energy capacity by 2030, positioning itself as a global leader in clean energy. Carrie Antal, Deputy Director of the Indo-Pacific Office at USAID, pointed out that India's economic growth has inspired many nations to follow its example. She outlined USAID's collaboration with India in fostering inclusive and sustainable growth across various sectors, emphasizing joint initiatives with the Indian private sector for maximum development impact.

Addressing the summit, Upendra Tripathy, former Secretary of MNRE, emphasized the broad scope of energy transition and the importance of bilateral engagements and knowledge sharing. Summit Chairman Sunil Jain highlighted the critical role of small modular reactors in future energy transitions, a key area for US-India collaboration. Arun Karna, Regional President of IACC, emphasized renewable energy's dual role in addressing environmental concerns and driving economic growth through job creation and innovation.

Dr. Lalit Bhasin, Immediate Past National President of IACC, stressed the need for balancing climate change mitigation efforts with the economic development goals of emerging countries like India. Other distinguished speakers, including Mr. Manoj K Singh and Dr. Nitin Seth, contributed to the discussion on the importance of effective action against climate change, reinforcing the collaborative efforts between India and the US.
