A portion of the single-storey structure at Kumbhraj railway station in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, developed major cracks and caved in on Thursday morning, an official said.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred around 6:20 am. The collapse reportedly resulted from incessant rainfall in the area.
Passengers standing near the 60-year-old building's porch escaped unhurt. Following the incident, the ticket counter was closed, and West Central Railway officials initiated a safety survey of old structures. The India Meteorological Department reported 34 mm rainfall in Guna on the day of the incident.
