The e-commerce sector is expected to employ 10 lakh gig workers and 2.5 lakh contractual staff for the upcoming festive season, according to TeamLease Services on Thursday.
The industry anticipates a 35% increase in sales during the festive season, a significant rise from the previous year, stated TeamLease Services Senior VP and Business Head, Balasubramanian A.
He added that the festive season will drive sales and job creation on a large scale. The hiring wave underscores the sector's pivotal role in job creation and its substantial contribution to India's vision of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy by 2025.
