A casual reference to a bomb led to the arrest of a Mumbai-bound passenger at Cochin International Airport. Manoj Kumar, 42, made an alarming comment about the presence of a bomb in his baggage during a security check on Sunday morning, prompting immediate action by airport authorities.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) thoroughly inspected Kumar's cabin and checked baggage, finding no threats. Despite classifying the threat as non-specific, Kumar was handed over to local police for further investigation. The flight was allowed to depart on time after the incident.

With Independence Day approaching, security has been intensified at all airports. Cochin International Airport has issued an advisory for passengers to arrive well in advance to account for increased security measures during this busy season.
