Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that Maruti Suzuki India began exporting its sports utility vehicle, Fronx, to Japan, enhancing the global presence of 'Brand India'.

The inaugural shipment, consisting of over 1,600 vehicles, departed from Gujarat's Pipavav port, the country's largest carmaker said.

Fronx is the first SUV from Maruti Suzuki to be introduced in Japan. The model is manufactured exclusively at the company's Gujarat plant. Goyal emphasized on social media that this milestone encapsulates the progress India has made in domestic manufacturing policies under the Modi government.
