Bird Strike Forces Air India Flight to Abort Take-Off at Goa Airport

An Air India flight carrying 116 passengers, scheduled to depart from Dabolim airport in Goa to Mumbai, was forced to abort take-off due to a bird strike, a senior official reported.
The incident occurred at 6:45 am. The bird strike caused smoke to emanate from the aircraft's engine, leading to an immediate abortion of the take-off, according to Dabolim Airport Director M.C. Jayarajan.
The incident was promptly reported to senior authorities by the air traffic controller. The flight was scheduled from Goa International Airport at Dabolim, near Vasco. The aircraft is currently parked pending further investigation. Jayarajan mentioned that the Airports Authority of India will discuss the issue of birds on the runway with the Navy.
