Telecom Industry AGR Grows by 8.24% in FY 2023-24: TRAI Report
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reported an 8.24% increase in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) for telecom operators in 2023-24, amounting to Rs 2.7 lakh crore. The government's licence fee share rose by 8.45%, while spectrum usage charge collections fell by 32.2%. Reliance Jio led with the highest AGR growth.

According to a report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) of telecom operators increased by 8.24% to Rs 2.7 lakh crore in 2023-24. This AGR growth marks a significant rise from the Rs 2.49 lakh crore reported in 2022-23.
Leading the charge, Reliance Jio posted the highest AGR of Rs 97.86 thousand crore, reflecting a 9.62% spike from the previous year's Rs 89.27 crore. Bharti Airtel showed robust growth, with its AGR rising by 12.12% to Rs 80.52 thousand crore.
The government's revenue from licence fees expanded by 8.45% to Rs 21,642 crore. However, collections from spectrum usage charges plummeted by 32.2% to Rs 3,369 crore in FY24. Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) saw a decrease in their share of the Access AGR to 6.64% from 7.04% the previous year.
