Airlines Adjust Flights Amid Middle East Tensions

Due to escalating concerns over possible conflict in the Middle East, various international airlines have announced flight suspensions or route adjustments. Aegean Airlines, Air Algerie, airBaltic, and several others have either cancelled flights to specific cities or opted to avoid affected airspace altogether.

Due to rising concerns over a broader conflict in the Middle East, a number of international airlines have taken preemptive measures to suspend flights to the region or to steer clear of its affected airspace.

Among the airlines making adjustments are AEGEAN Airlines, which cancelled all flights to and from Beirut, Amman, and Tel Aviv until August 19. Similarly, Air Algerie has temporarily suspended its flights to and from Lebanon.

Extended flight suspensions have also been enacted by airlines such as airBaltic, Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines, and Lufthansa Group, with speculated resumption times ranging from late August to as far out as March 2025. This wave of alterations signals a cautious approach by the aviation industry in response to the uncertain geopolitical climate.
