Foxconn’s business operations in India have surpassed USD 10 billion through 2024, as per its chairman Young Liu. The company has also invested USD 1.4 billion to date. A recent highlight is the inauguration of a women-only residential complex, reflecting Foxconn's commitment to gender diversity and employee welfare.
Foxconn’s business footprint in India has expanded significantly, surpassing USD 10 billion in revenue as of 2024, according to company chairman Young Liu.
The electronics manufacturing giant has invested USD 1.4 billion in India, a testament to its growing engagement in the region. Speaking to PTI at the inauguration of a women-only residential complex near Foxconn’s plant, Liu said, “So far, till last year, we have done more than USD 10 billion in business size. We will do much more in this coming year.”
This marks Liu's first visit to India since receiving the Padma Bhushan, and he emphasized the company’s inclusive hiring practices, noting that women, especially married women, play a crucial role in their operations. Despite recent allegations of hiring discrimination, Foxconn maintains that 25% of its new hires are married women, and women constitute 70% of its factory workforce. The newly inaugurated complex will house over 18,000 women employees, featuring sustainable living conditions aimed at enhancing their health and safety.
