Policybazaar Introduces 15-Minute Express Hospital Discharge for Insured Patients

Policybazaar for Business, Paramount Health TPA, and insurance companies have launched a 15-minute express discharge service for insured patients. The service aims to reduce the current 5-6 hour wait time significantly. Initially, it's available to employees from specific corporates under group health insurance plans.

Gurugram, Haryana [India], August 21: Policybazaar for Business, a brand of Policybazaar Insurance Brokers Private Limited, has partnered with Paramount Health TPA and various insurance companies to introduce a 15-minute Express Discharge service. This initiative aims to address the prolonged wait times between a doctor's discharge confirmation and the actual hospital release for cashless claims.

Typically, patients endure a 5-6 hour delay due to the coordination required between hospital departments and the TPA. This expedited service is designed to cut down the wait time to a mere 15 minutes, offering a more convenient and hassle-free discharge process for insured individuals.

Initially, the pilot service will benefit employees of certain corporates that have purchased Group Health Insurance from Policybazaar for Business and consented to join the Express Discharge Service. Sajja Praveen Chowdary, Director & Head at Policybazaar for Business, emphasized that seamless claims processes are crucial for employee benefits propositions. “We believe this initiative will bring a much-needed change in the insurance industry, aligning with IRDAI's efforts to reduce TAT for claims,” he said.

Atman Shah, Chief Operating Officer at Paramount Health TPA, highlighted that the service significantly reduces emotional stress and enhances the overall customer experience. “Express discharge ensures insured individuals and their families receive discharge within minutes, saving valuable time and energy,” Shah noted.
