Singaporean low-cost carrier Scoot is setting its sights on expanding its presence in India, a market that has shown significant growth potential. Senior executive Brian Torrey stated the airline is already connecting Singapore with six Indian cities and is actively seeking new opportunities.
Scoot, part of Singapore Airlines, is keen to cater to the rising middle class and leisure travel across multiple age groups in India. However, the airline is constrained by existing bilateral air service agreements between Singapore and India.
Agatha Yap, Scoot's Director of Marketing, emphasized the importance of the Indian market for their operations. The airline currently employs Boeing 787 and A320 family planes for its India routes. The wider Singapore Airlines group, including Scoot, serves 13 Indian destinations.
