An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter engaged in transporting a damaged Kestrel civil helicopter in Uttarakhand faced a critical flight safety issue on Saturday.
The IAF revealed that the Mi-17 V5 chopper had to jettison its load to ensure safety, releasing the helicopter over an unpopulated area. This action prevented any harm to life or property.
An official inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident, the IAF confirmed in a post on X.
