India-Bangladesh Collaboration Continues with New Projects

Dhaka, Sep 10 (PTI) - A top adviser of the interim government highlighted the significance of India-funded projects, emphasizing their continuation under Bangladesh's new administration.
Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed expressed optimism about enhanced cooperation during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma, the state-run BSS news agency reported. According to Ahmed, existing projects are substantial, and discussions are underway to initiate more for mutual benefit.
Despite concerns regarding project implementation timeliness post the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government's ouster, Indian envoy Verma assured that New Delhi's major projects in Bangladesh are ongoing.
Ahmed thanked the Indian government for its cooperation and emphasized future collaboration based on Bangladesh's needs, addressing any disbursement issues. Discussions also covered boosting bilateral economic ties and investment opportunities, with both sides focusing on trade balance improvement and scientific collaboration.
