Tragic Train Collision in Arunachal Pradesh: Grandfather Killed, Grandchild Injured

A 52-year-old man lost his life, and his grandchild sustained injuries when their vehicle was struck by a train while crossing the tracks in Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Siang district. The tragic incident was reported by an official on Saturday.
The accident occurred at Pale near Dimow around 3.50 pm on Friday. Providing further details, GRP Assistant Sub-Inspector Ganesh Hazarika informed PTI that the deceased, identified as Rigo Riba, was traveling with his seven-year-old grandchild. Riba, a sub-inspector of the Indian Reserve Battalion posted in East Siang district's Pasighat, was on his way to his native village when the accident happened.
The vehicle was struck by the Murkongselek-Tezpur special train, which was en route to Dekargaon in Assam's Tezpur. The impact dragged the car for nearly 1 km, resulting in Riba's immediate death, according to Hazarika. The injured minor has been transported to Dibrugarh, Assam, for further medical treatment.
