Maharashtra Government Disburses Rs 2,399 Crore Subsidy to Cotton and Soybean Farmers

The Maharashtra government on Monday disbursed Rs 2,399 crore to cotton and soybean growers under a new subsidy scheme, officials announced.
The scheme provides a Rs 5,000 per hectare subsidy to farmers who registered on the state government's portal for the 2023 kharif season, directly transferring funds into their bank accounts.
As many as 49.5 lakh farmers received the subsidy, with the total financial outlay reaching Rs 2,398.93 crore according to the state agriculture department. The initiative was launched by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and deputies just ahead of the November assembly polls.
