On Saturday, over 30 flights were subjected to bomb threats, including an Alliance Air service from Kochi to Bengaluru, according to Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL). This incident has sparked heightened security measures across Indian airways.

CIAL reported that the bomb threats were communicated via the X handle of Alliance Air, affecting multiple airports and airlines. A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was swiftly called to evaluate the credibility of the threats.

After thorough evaluation, the BTAC concluded the threats were non-specific but recommended increased security protocols. These include heightened physical checks on passengers and baggage, as well as explosive trace detection and secondary inspections. Although similar threats have plagued Indian carriers throughout the week, they have largely been deemed false alarms.
