In a tragic accident, a head-on collision between a goods-carrying van and an autorickshaw claimed five lives in Assam's Cachar district on Monday, according to police reports.
The deadly incident occurred near the Ranighat bridge along Silchar-Kalain Road. Among the deceased were Jakir Hussain, his wife Rezia Begum, their children Diluwab and Rehana, and their neighbor Tahiruddin.
The autorickshaw driver survived the crash but was hospitalized with injuries, an official confirmed.
