Railways to Mobilize 3,000 Special Trains for Maha Kumbh 2025
In preparation for the Maha Kumbh 2025, Indian Railways will operate 3,000 special trains, with 560 on ring rail routes. Over 10 lakh tickets will be available daily, and security measures include 18,000 personnel and advanced CCTV systems. Medical facilities will also be provided at Prayagraj Junction.

The Indian Railways is gearing up for the Maha Kumbh 2025 by mobilizing an enormous fleet of 3,000 special trains, a senior official revealed. Among these, 560 trains will specifically operate on the strategically crucial ring rail routes.
To ensure seamless ticket distribution, North Central Railway General Manager Upendra Chandra Joshi announced the availability of 560 ticketing points across nine key railway stations in Prayagraj, in addition to setups in the fair area, offering over 10 lakh tickets daily.
In anticipation of large crowds, more than 18,000 personnel from both the Railway Protection Force and State Railway Police will ensure safety, supported by an elaborate network of 1,186 CCTV cameras, including 116 AI-enhanced units for facial recognition of potential threats.
