The government has announced a new regulation, imposing a minimum import price of Rs 20,108 per tonne on Disodium Carbonate, also known as Soda Ash. This move will remain in effect until June 30, 2024, as per a notification from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

Soda ash is a crucial component in several industries, with significant applications in glass manufacturing, chemical production, and the detergent industry. The government's intervention is aimed at stabilizing the domestic market and supporting local producers.
