A devastating fire broke out at the Patalganga Linear Alkyl Benzene plant of Reliance Industries Limited in Maharashtra's Raigad district, leading to the tragic death of a worker and serious injuries to six others, authorities confirmed.
The blaze began on Wednesday evening, threatening the lives of employees like Digvijay Kumar Rambahadur Singh, who succumbed to severe burn injuries sustained during a plant shutdown procedure. Singh, a native of Bihar, was employed by Rotostat Service Private Limited at the time of the incident.
The fire's cause remains unclear as police continue their investigation following the filing of an accidental death case. Meanwhile, the injured, originating from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, are receiving treatment at the National Burns Centre, Navi Mumbai. Reliance Industries' official response to the disaster is still awaited.
