TATA.ev has announced an ambitious plan to double the number of its charging stations to 400,000 by 2027. This endeavor aims to make electric vehicles (EVs) more accessible and convenient across India, following a significant milestone of over two lakh EVs sold, according to a company release.

In 2023, TATA.ev initiated its 'Open Collaboration' framework to form strategic alliances with Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). This collaboration aims at expanding the charging infrastructure, particularly along highways, and has led to a significant increase in public charging points, exceeding 18,000 units within 15 months.

At the 'Open Collaboration 2.0' launch, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, highlighted the company's commitment to building a reliable charging infrastructure. With 400,000 charging points planned in two years, TATA.ev is focused on improving the charging process, enhancing reliability, and facilitating the growth of CPOs. The introduction of TATA.ev Mega Chargers and a unified charging helpline also aims to enhance user experience and address customer concerns effectively.
