Haryana Restructures Cold Storage Fees to Support Small Operators

The Haryana Government has revised the lump sum fee structure for cold storage facilities based on their capacity. Fees now range from Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000, aimed at providing relief to smaller operators. The change follows meetings between cold storage operators and the state's Chief Minister.

The Haryana Government has taken a significant step to support small cold storage operators by revising the lump sum fee structure based on storage capacity.

Currently, cold storages with capacities up to 2,000 metric tons will be levied Rs 35,000, those ranging from 2,001 to 5,000 metric tons will face fees of Rs 55,000, and facilities exceeding 5,000 metric tons will pay Rs 70,000.

This decision comes after cold storage operators met with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, seeking relief for smaller operations. As a result, fees previously set at a flat Rs 70,000 are now tiered to accommodate varying capacities among the 222 operating storages across the state.
