Authorities halted two Mumbai-bound express trains in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday following bomb threats received through social media, officials reported. After a thorough inspection lasting three hours, no suspicious items were found on either train.
The threats targeted the Kamayani Express from Ballia and the Dadar Express from Gorakhpur, with warnings sent at around 10:30 a.m. Prompt action was taken, with the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and district administration launching search operations.
While the Kamayani Express was detained at Ballia Railway Station, the Dadar Express stopped at Audhihar Railway Station for comprehensive security checks. Authorities, including a deployed dog squad, found no threats. Investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the misleading alerts and hold those responsible accountable.
