The CII Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Summit 2025, held in Chennai, gathered policymakers and industry experts to assess the state's growing infrastructure needs and opportunities, under the theme 'Shaping the Future: Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Infrastructure for All.'
With a focus on data centers, green mobility, and innovative construction, the summit tackled Tamil Nadu's infrastructure goals, vital for achieving its vision of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Shiv Das Meena, Chairperson of TNRERA, emphasized that both hard and soft infrastructure must evolve simultaneously to ensure sustainable growth, highlighting the potential impact of the Chennai Metro Rail Project's timely completion on urban mobility.
Coimbatore's rise as an IT hub and the need for a competitive airport to rival Bengaluru's was also stressed. C. Devarajan, Convenor, CII TN Infrastructure Panel, called for policies promoting affordable housing and collaboration to build resilient infrastructure. The joint CII-CBRE report, titled 'Tamil Nadu: The State of Unlimited Possibilities', detailed the state's robust economic growth, driven by strategic investments.
