Siemens Boosts Factory Capacity in India under 'Make in India' Initiative
Siemens plans to increase its manufacturing presence in India as part of the 'Make in India' initiative, aiming to meet both local and global demands in various sectors, including power and rail transportation. The company has invested significantly in India's digitalization and energy modernization efforts.

Siemens, a global technology company, is poised to expand its manufacturing footprint in India under the 'Make in India' initiative, targeting both local and international markets. This announcement was made by Matthias Rebellius, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Smart Infrastructure, at the Elecrama 2025 event in Greater Noida.
The company has invested over Rs 9,000 crore in India since 2015, with an additional Rs 1,100 crore pledged for November 2023. Rebellius highlighted their commitment to addressing the country's growing needs for power generation, transmission, and rail transportation.
Siemens employs over 34,000 individuals across 32 factories in India and recognizes the nation’s ambitions to become a global manufacturing hub. By investing in digitalization and clean energy, Siemens aligns with the Government of India's vision for a developed nation by 2047.
