BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai has raised alarms about the dire financial state of Karnataka, claiming mismanagement under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to Bommai, the people of Karnataka are burdened with hefty taxes while development remains stagnant.

Responding to Siddaramaiah's comments about stabilizing the state's economy, Bommai criticized the CM's approach, stating the financial position is strained due to excessive borrowing and inadequate capital expenditure. He accused Siddaramaiah of evading essential questions about budget allocations.

Bommai highlighted that Siddaramaiah had introduced more than Rs 30,000 crore in additional taxes last year, affecting areas like vehicle tax, land values, and public transport costs. He urged the state government to address these financial issues and be transparent with budget details.
