RailTel Secures Kavach Tender to Elevate Railway Safety

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has won the Kavach tender to enhance safety and efficiency within the East Central Railway. Covering 71 stations over 502 km, the Kavach system prevents train collisions using advanced technology. This move marks a significant advancement in railway safety and operational effectiveness.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has been awarded the Kavach tender, targeting enhanced safety across 71 stations over a 502 km route under the Danapur and Sonpur divisions of East Central Railway. The project, valued at Rs 288 crore, marks one of RailTel's largest initiatives in railway signalling technology.

Kavach, an indigenous automatic train protection system, is engineered to prevent train collisions by automatically applying brakes when necessary. This advanced technology aims to boost safety and operational efficiency, curbing mishaps such as red signal overshoots.
