Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, inaugurated the 19th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, channeling over Rs 22,000 crore into the accounts of 9.8 crore farmers nationwide. During an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar, Modi underscored the initiative's role in advancing rural development and agricultural prosperity.

Highlighting Bihar's progress, Modi announced new projects for the state, including initiatives in animal husbandry and establishing Centres of Excellence for agriculture. He discussed exporting local products to international markets and emphasised the growth of Bihar's food processing industry and the textile sector.

The Prime Minister also linked Bihar's historical significance to future development, drawing parallels between ancient universities and the proposed educational initiatives. He stressed infrastructure developments, such as a new highway, aimed at propelling Bihar to a leading role in Eastern India's growth narrative.
