Pune Summit 2025: A Catalyst for India's Economic Growth

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, announced the Government's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment by ensuring regulatory stability and enhancing the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) in India. He addressed the Pune International Business Summit 2025 virtually, emphasizing the strengthened investment ties following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visits to the US and France.
The summit, as explained by Goyal, will explore emerging trade trends and focus on building robust alliances with an emphasis on the significant role of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in driving 'Viksit Bharat'. This two-day event, organized by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture (MCCIA), will see participation from representatives of over 20 countries, indicating global confidence in the Indian economy.
Dubbed the 'Detroit of the East,' Pune is celebrated for its innovation and industrial strength, making it a strategic venue for such a collaborative platform. Goyal lauded the efforts of MCCIA, a 90-year-old association, for organizing the event. This summit underscores Government’s investment efforts which includes Rs 10,000-crore Fund of Funds for Startups and a Rs 20,000 crore commitment to the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), along with the Jan Vishwas 2.0 initiative to bolster trust-based governance.
