Eastern Railway Commuters Face Delays Due to Technical Glitch

Eastern Railway's Howrah-Bandel-Bardhaman line experienced a three-hour disruption on Thursday due to an EMU train malfunction. The pantograph of the Bandel-Howrah train entangled with overhead wires, causing cancellations and widespread delays. Normal service resumed at 11.07 am after necessary repairs.

Commuters using the Howrah-Bandel-Bardhaman main line of Eastern Railway faced significant delays on Thursday morning following a technical glitch with a suburban train, an official reported.

Train operations were halted from 8.20 am to 11.07 am, during peak travel times, severely impacting many passengers' journeys.

The issue arose when the pantograph of the Bandel-Howrah EMU local became entangled with overhead wires at Bandel station. This incident led to the cancellation of 23 trains in the section before the service was restored before noon.
