In a tragic early morning incident in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, a deadly collision between a truck and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) claimed eight lives and left 13 others injured. The accident occurred around 2:30 am near Upni petrol pump on the Sidhi-Bahri Road.

The SUV, operating as a taxi service and carrying family members for a child's 'mundan' ceremony in Maihar, collided head-on with a truck traveling towards Bahri. Seven SUV passengers perished instantly, while the truck driver has been detained as investigations proceed.

State authorities, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, announced financial aid for victims' families. An inquiry led by senior police officials is underway to determine the cause, with initial reports hinting at the SUV's potential wrong-way approach.
