A tragic accident in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district claimed the lives of six laborers when a speeding truck loaded with sugarcane overturned. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on a Monday in the Pishor ghat section, releasing 17 workers who were aboard the vehicle.
The truck driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to capsize and trapping the laborers under a heap of sugarcane. Immediate action by local police and community members resulted in a rescue operation, finding four deceased at the scene and two more succumbing to injuries later.
Among the deceased were Kisan Rathod, Manoj Chavan, Mithun Chavan, Vinod Chavan, Krushna Rathod, and Dnyaneshwar Chavan. Despite efforts, 11 surviving workers sustained injuries and were admitted to local hospitals. The incident raises concerns about transportation safety in the area.
