Jio Partners with SpaceX to Launch Starlink Internet in India

Jio Platforms Limited teams up with SpaceX to offer Starlink broadband services in India, pending regulatory approvals. The collaboration seeks to enhance Jio’s vast internet reach and improve connectivity in remote areas. Jio promises Starlink equipment availability and dedicated customer service support across the nation.

Jio Platforms Limited has entered into a strategic agreement with SpaceX to deliver Starlink broadband internet services to its Indian clientele. This partnership, contingent upon SpaceX securing the required authorizations to sell Starlink in India, allows both companies to explore synergies that could extend Jio's service portfolio and complement SpaceX's direct consumer and business offerings.

The collaboration intends to distribute Starlink solutions through Jio's extensive network of retail outlets, as well as its online platforms. With Jio being the largest mobile operator by data traffic and Starlink operating the most prominent low Earth orbit satellite constellation, they aim to collaboratively offer reliable broadband access nationwide, including rural and remote locales.

Furthering their commitment to accessible internet, Jio plans to not only provide Starlink equipment in stores but also establish systems for customer service, installation, and activation. This partnership underscores their dedication to rendering the internet attainable for all sectors, including businesses and communities throughout India.

The complementary nature of Starlink with JioAirFiber and JioFiber underscores a swift and cost-effective extension of high-speed internet to challenging terrains. Both Jio and SpaceX are evaluating additional cooperative opportunities to bolster India's digital infrastructure.
