The Jammu and Kashmir government is expanding its industrial base by identifying 625 acres for new industrial estates in the Kashmir division. A proposal for an additional 1,207 acres has also been submitted for Jammu. These initiatives aim to boost the region's industrial capacity and economic development.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary relayed the plans in the Legislative Assembly. The government has granted several mining leases, including 36 for limestone and 24 for gypsum, enhancing resource availability for construction and other industries. Key infrastructural developments include the Maitra-Ramban bridge, set to be completed by August 2026.

The planned bridge over the Chenab River is crucial for improving connectivity, overcoming delays initially caused by design challenges. Additionally, the Border Roads Organization has proposed a four-lane upgrade to the Dhar-Udhampur road, pending Northern Command approval, indicating a significant focus on infrastructure enhancement.
