Casio India Co. Pvt. Ltd. has introduced an ambitious CSR initiative named 'Recycle Responsibly' across Delhi NCR, aimed at addressing the escalating e-waste challenge. The campaign provides accessible e-waste recycling services to citizens in multiple cities, using mobile collection vans for convenience.
India ranks as the third-largest e-waste producer globally, generating over 3.2 million metric tonnes annually. Much of this waste is processed informally, posing health and environmental risks. The 'Recycle Responsibly' campaign, running from March 25 to April 7, leverages mobile units to collect e-waste directly from communities.
Aligned with the Indian government's E-Waste Management Rules and the LiFE movement, Casio India's effort seeks to educate and empower the public about sustainable waste disposal. Partnering with NGO SHEOWS and AWS, Casio expands formal recycling systems and integrates informal workers, fostering a community-driven culture of recycling.
