An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner destined for New Delhi returned to Hong Kong as a safety measure on Monday after the pilot suspected a technical issue mid-flight, according to a source familiar with the situation.
This incident occurred just days after a tragic crash involving a similar Air India aircraft in Ahmedabad claimed 241 lives. The flight, AI315, departed from Hong Kong at 12:16 p.m. and returned shortly over an hour later, as per data on Flightradar24.
The aircraft is currently undergoing thorough checks. Boeing and Air India have not immediately provided comments on the matter.
