SLMG Beverages Pvt Ltd, a key player in Coca-Cola's bottling operations in India, reported a noteworthy achievement on Monday. The company, recognized as Coca-Cola's largest independent bottler in the country, successfully reduced its carbon emissions by around 16,000 metric tonnes in 2024 compared to the previous year.
This environmental milestone was accomplished through multiple green initiatives. A significant 90 percent of SLMG's fuel consumption is now derived from biofuels, while 38 percent of its energy needs are met by solar power. These efforts underscore the company's commitment to renewable energy adoption as part of its broader strategy to combat climate change.
SLMG Beverages, a flagship of the Ladhani Group, is not only prominent in reducing carbon footprints but also in advancing water management. The company has enhanced its Water Usage Ratio with cutting-edge technologies like Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis. Operating seven bottling units across Uttar Pradesh, SLMG contributes to 23 percent of Coca-Cola's national volumes, reinforcing its position as an environmental leader in the beverage industry.
