In a significant boost to the manufacturing sector, Telangana Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu inaugurated new facilities at Toshiba's plant in Rudraram. The newly established units encompass a CRGO Core Processing Centre and a Surge Arrester Line, a major step in expanding production capabilities.

Located in Sangareddy district, the facility can process 12,000 Metric Tonnes of Cold Rolled Grain-Oriented steel annually and manufacture 80,000 surge arresters per year. The expansion will enhance Toshiba Transmission and Distribution Systems (India) capacity, boosting power transformer production from 30,000 MVA to 42,000 MVA annually.

The upgrade is part of a Rs 562 crore investment to transform Telangana into a global manufacturing hub. Hiroshi Furuta, Chairman, highlighted the benefits for local employment and global supply enhancements, emphasising the drive towards sustainable energy solutions.
