Awam Express Tragedy: Third Train Derailment Hits Punjab

A tragic train derailment in Pakistan's Punjab province has resulted in one death and 33 injuries. The accident involving the Awam Express is the third such incident in the region this month, triggering a governmental probe to hold responsible parties accountable and expedite track restoration efforts.

In a tragic turn of events, the Awam Express, traveling from Peshawar to Karachi, derailed in Punjab's Lodhran district, leaving one passenger dead and injuring 33 others. This incident marks the third train derailment in the province within a month, raising significant safety concerns.

Rescue operations were swiftly conducted, with 11 of the injured receiving medical aid on-site. The remaining injured individuals were transported to Lodhran District Hospital, and two critically injured were moved to Bahawalpur's medical facilities for further care.

Following the accident, Pakistan's Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, announced a full investigation and promised disciplinary measures against those found responsible. Efforts to restore the damaged track are underway, with authorities racing against time to normalize rail services.
