Indian stock markets extended their upward momentum as the trading session closed on a positive note, influenced by anticipations of beneficial GST reforms and advancements in Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations. The BSE Sensex climbed by 370.64 points, ending at 81,644.39, while the NSE Nifty 50 increased by 103.70 points, closing at 24,980.65.

The benchmark Nifty index has now closed in the green for four consecutive sessions, illustrating growing investor confidence. Industry expert Sudeep Shah of SBI Securities noted the widespread positive performance across key sectors, which supported this rally, including robust gains in Tata Motors, Adani Ports, and Hero MotoCorp, despite minor declines in the pharma sector.

Sectoral indices, led by Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Auto, ended the day with increases, signaling strength in energy and auto sectors. Broader market participation was strong, with notable surges in Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices. Analysts, however, caution that global geopolitical developments and ongoing India-US trade talks could temper this momentum.
