India-US Trade Talks: Progress on Bilateral Agreement

The Commerce Ministry reported productive discussions with US Chief Negotiator Brendan Lynch regarding the India-US bilateral trade deal. Both countries agreed to expedite efforts for a beneficial agreement, aiming for an early conclusion. The meeting featured Rajesh Agarwal leading the Indian delegation.

The Commerce Ministry announced on Tuesday that talks with US Chief Negotiator Brendan Lynch about the proposed bilateral trade agreement were both positive and forward-looking.

According to a statement from the ministry, efforts will be intensified to reach an early and mutually advantageous conclusion to the agreement, following a day-long meeting with US representatives.

Leading the Indian negotiations was Rajesh Agarwal, Special Secretary of the Department of Commerce, while Lynch, Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia, arrived in the national capital on Monday evening to engage in discussions.
