IndiGo, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of Amitabh Kant as an additional director on its board, effective from September 15, 2025. This move follows the receipt of security clearance from the civil aviation ministry, marking a notable addition to the airline's leadership team.
Earlier on July 3, IndiGo revealed its intention to include Kant, a distinguished figure known for his tenure as Niti Aayog's CEO and India's G20 Sherpa, in its board composition. The regulatory filing by InterGlobe Aviation, IndiGo's parent company, confirmed the completion of required formalities.
