At least 63 people lost their lives in a tragic accident involving multiple vehicles on a highway in western Uganda, police reported on Wednesday.
The catastrophic collision took place shortly after midnight local time along the highway leading to Gulu, a prominent city in the northern region of Uganda.
Police disclosed that four vehicles, including two buses, were involved in the crash. It began when a bus driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided head-on with a lorry. Such fatal road accidents are frequent in Uganda, often attributed to narrow roads and drivers exceeding speed limits.
