The incident unfolded late on Wednesday in the Barauni-Katihar section, as the victims, hailing from Rahua village, attempted to make their way home from a local fair.

Identified as Rita Devi, her daughter Roshni Kumari, Arohi Kumari, and Dharm Dev Mahto, the deceased have been sent for post-mortem as family members are informed and mourn their loss.
