A devastating incident occurred in Andhra Pradesh when a private bus from Hyderabad, bound for Bengaluru, caught fire following a collision, claiming 20 lives. The fire left most victims unrecognizable, prompting a thorough investigation.
The Andhra Pradesh government swiftly formed a committee comprising transport, roads, and revenue officials to determine the cause and any liabilities associated with the tragedy. State Home Minister V Anitha revealed that the bus had 39 adults, four children, and two unidentified individuals onboard, before the mishap.
Special teams are tasked with DNA collection for victim identification, while forensic experts are examining the fire's cause. Some survivors are hospitalized with injuries, and authorities are pursuing one absconding driver. A comprehensive report will be presented to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu post-investigation.
