Delhi Airport's Expansion Vision: Boosting Capacity to 130 Million Passengers

Delhi Airport is set to increase its passenger handling capacity to 130 million annually, according to CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar. This growth ambition comes as efficiencies in operations are expected to enhance the airport's capabilities.

Currently, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) handles over 100 million passengers a year, with a recorded 79.3 million passengers in the 2025 financial year. Jaipuriar noted that passenger numbers are projected to rise, spurring the need for expansion.

The airport's revamped Terminal 2 is now operational, alongside Terminals 1 and 3. Notably, international flights are confined to T3. Innovations such as enhanced baggage handling between terminals are underway to streamline passenger experiences.
