Navi Mumbai's Property Tax Triumph: A Rs 500 Crore Milestone

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) announced a significant achievement on Tuesday, having collected over Rs 500 crore in property taxes in the first seven months of the financial year.
The effort involved contributions from 1.63 lakh property owners across eight crucial divisions of NMMC, reflecting a robust civic engagement.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde attributes this success to public-friendly measures, technological advancements, and heightened awareness about digital payment methods, with digital collections making up Rs 313.70 crore of the total. The NMMC aims to reach a target of Rs 1,000 crore by year-end.
