A private airline helicopter crash-landed near the Mt Everest region in Nepal on Wednesday, as reported by local police. The pilot, fortunately, escaped with minor injuries.

The helicopter, operated by Altitude Air, departed from Lukla without passengers to rescue tourists stranded in Lobuchem. The incident is attributed to heavy snowfall affecting the Khumbu region.

Captain Vivek Khadka was piloting the chopper when it slipped during a landing attempt. The aircraft was severely damaged, breaking into two parts. Despite this, the pilot was swiftly airlifted to Lukla for medical evaluation and is expected to recover. Authorities have advised trekkers to exercise caution as considerable snowfall persist in various mountainous regions.
